Within Our Reach-8 Hours Trainings


Become trained as a facilitator for Within Our Reach-8 Hours.

Upcoming Trainings:

  • Feb. 23-24 (Sat. and Sun.) from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Location: the Ayres Boutique Suites Hotel in Ontario (204 North Vineyard, Ontario CA 91764).  The hotel can be reached at (909)937-9700. (For a flyer with more information, click here).
  • April 27-28 (Sat. and Sun.) from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Location: the Comfort Inn and Suite in Oakland (8452 Edes Ave., Oakland 94621). The inn can be reached at (510) 568-1500. (For a flyer with more information, click here). Up to 10 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) are available by attending this 2-day training. This training is a joint effort between Bento Leal and Sylvia Palda, M.S., M.A., LMFT who is approved by the Board of Behavioral Sciences to offer continuing education to MFTs and LCSWs. CE Provider # PCE4866.
  • In order to attend the workshop, participants must meet four requirements:

    1. Complete the Facilitator Candidate Registration.
    2. Sign the Letter of Agreement between Trainee Applicant and Healthy Relationships California.
    3. Schedule dates for the first WOR class they plan to teach.
    4. Pay a $100 registration fee (this is refundable after facilitators have taught their first class to 6 couples or more).

    Within Our Reach™ 8 Hours comes from PREP, Inc.®, one of the leaders in marriage education. It is designed for couples (married or dating) to attend together. This program helps couples create happier, more stable marriages, to improve quality of life not only for themselves but also for their children. Within Our Reach 8 Hours strives to help couples achieve their goals in marriage, family, and relationships. The program builds upon couple‚Äôs existing strengths, while adding important relationship skills to create a stable and safe family environment.  These skills include:

    Within Our Reach 8 Hours moves away from the traditional lecture format. Instead, it is highly engaging and interactive, inviting couples to apply the lessons they learn to their lives and relationships.
